At work
I have specialised in Equity Release Lifetime Mortgages for over 22 years and have enjoyed every minute of it. As founder of Laterlivingnow! I choose to work alongside people who are not only passionate advisers, but are well-known, respected and trusted.
As one of the very first members of the Equity Release Council, I had the privilege of serving as Adviser Representative on its Standards Board for over two years, helping shape the rules and guidance that ensures Equity Release remains safe, and fair for our clients.
It is now my honour to serve on the Advisory Board to The Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA). My role, is to provide expert opinion, guidance and technical knowledge on Equity Release and the use of the home financially, such as in paying for care. I also support SOLLA by delivering presentations to its members.
In 2019 the London Institute of Banking & Finance invited me to become an ‘Item Reviewer’ for the Certificate Regulated in Equity Release (CeRER®), which involves periodically reviewing the question bank for candidates.

At home
I’m fortunate enough to live in an area of unspoilt North Pennines countryside in Alston, Cumbria, which is famous for being the highest market town in England. From here, I can visit clients living in Cumbria, Northumberland, Durham, Tyne & Wear, and Teesside, with client further afield typically looked after when the need arises.
My passion is walking in our beautiful rural countryside, where you can find me most weekends with my wife (and colleague) Kaye, and our dog Jess – the company’s ‘Head of Client Welcoming!’
